[ Wisdom’s Guidance ] Trust in the Lord completely, and do not rely on your own opinions. With all your heart rely on him to guide you, and he will lead you in every decision you make. Become intimate with him in whatever you do, and he will lead you wherever you go.
A friend of mine, Franco Gagiano, gave me his Ipad and an applepen on Sunday morning before the service, and said if I want to, I can try to draw on it.
He quickly gave me a few instructions on the functions and left me to it. Now if you know me, you will understand that any new technological thing is quite daunting to me, often leaving me with a feeling of being technologically disabled. So it was no surprise to me that for the first five minutes, it felt like I was touching around in the dark.
But then suddenly, in a specific moment, I got it… a wonderful “a-haaa!” moment. I felt like a fish placed back into water, and for the next hour I swam around this wonderful world of digital art.
I was amazed at how effortless changing colours or changing “brushes” became. And in that moment, Holy Spirit spoke to my heart – this is what effortless trust feels like.
When Abba brings a new season into my life, it is totally normal to feel at unease initially. I have so often in the past felt those first unsure steps. Even now, in a new season, I feel myself unsure of exactly how to go about this new season I find myself in.
But I know, that as long as I keep on moving, keep on searching His heart in it all, and going with His instructions, I will soon find myself effortlessly walking along Him.
Isn’t it amazing, that the picture I chose to draw (shown here above), described exactly this feeling? When a little child starts walking, their footsteps are quite unsure initially. They will grab onto your hand, finding steadiness in you, and they will then boldly move forward.
I am once again reminded that this is how I want to walk with God everyday – never letting go of His hand, effortlessly trusting in Him to guide me along the right path. And the more I let go of my own need to be in control, the more effortlessly I can trust in Him to steady my footsteps, and to guide my direction.
Take hold of His hand today and trust in Him as you take one small step at a time. I pray that you will soon find yourself running alongside Him, as you are effortlessly trusting in Him.
May our Father bless you, and keep you, May He make His face shine upon you. May He lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace.
