Be still and know that Yahweh is God

In December 2013, our home that we have been living in for 13 years was auctioned off. My heart was so upset as this was the only place my kids ever new as home. I was wrestling with God, desiring a different outcome. I cried in despair, not knowing where life would take us. In those deepest moments of uncertainty, stress and fear, Abba met me with the words “Be still”. It was such a simple instruction, and yet against every single thought I had. I wanted to fight; I wanted to do everything in my human power to try to get a different outcome. And yet He kept reminding me to “Be Still”, until I finally found the courage to let go of the need to be in control, to be still and allow Him to fight for me. And even though our home was still auctioned off, He never let go of my hand, and He made a way for us where there seemed to be no way. Now in hindsight, I can clearly see how the rest I found in Him in that very stormy season, actually kept our family together and hidden under His wing while He was fighting for us. In addition, I can truly say – my Abba Father will make everything work together for those who love Him – even when the outcome of your story is not what you thought the best ought to be.
