Halleluyah

Testimony

As I reflected back on the past eight years of my life, I could clearly see how everything that happened shaped and formed my relationship with Abba Father, Jesus Christ and Holy Spirit. I would live through it all again, for what I have gained is so much more than I could ever lose. I was filled with joyful praise as I could look back and see His hand in everything. I wrote this song, inspired by Psalm 34, praising my God for who He is, and forever will be.

“I will bless the Lord at all times, His praise always in my mouth.”

Testimony

As a wife, a mom of five, a teacher and an artist, there are many days that I just do not have the immediate wisdom to cope with stressful situations. As I started walking with God, I realized more and more that I could call on Him in these situations as well. And He always meets me, guiding me with His wisdom in the difficult situations and comforting me with His presence in the storms. He showed me how we can dance through any situation as long as He is by my side.

Your love is…

Your love is…

Your love is…

Testimony

I love sitting on the edge of my bed in the morning, watching the sun rising over the Stellenbosch Mountain. One morning I sat there, talking to Abba, thanking Him for loving me despite all the wrongs I do. The next moment one ray of sunlight found its way through the oak tree obstructing half of my window, and shone right past me onto the wall next to me. As I stretched out my hand, the ray of sunlight rested warmly in the palm of my hand. I was mesmerized at how this sensation described how I felt Abba’s love. Even though I can see it in my life, even though I can physically experience it, I cannot catch it or contain it. With this song I tried my best to describe what Abba’s love feels like, but just like the ray of sunlight, I think I will never be able to completely describe or contain the essence of it. I just know my God is the fullness of love.

“Your Love is like a ray of sunlight on a cold winter’s morn warming my heart.”

Testimony

This song is about two memorable moments in my life. In the first verse, I sing about the day I realized, that when Abba called for Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, He knew they sinned, and yet He still went to meet them. I realized that Abba still wants me, despite anything I have ever done. He is coming to me, asking me to spend some time with Him. So why would I hide, and not go to Him?
The second verse is about a moment where I realized that after a period of seeking Abba’s face, He gave me more of Himself than I asked for. He overwhelmed me with His presence. I was so deeply aware of how much He wants to spend time with me, that I truly understood my value to Him for the first time. I am truly His rose, the very theme of His song.

David’s Song

Testimony

One morning, as I was meditating on God’s goodness, mercy, and grace, I wish I could describe the feelings of wonder and worship inside of me. Unable to do so, I took to my new Passion Translation Bible, and read some of my favourite Psalms. And there, in King David’s words, this song was born. Therefore, I decided to call it David’s Song – honouring his worship filled heart, inspiring me to sing about our King.
